Beef Teriyaki with Rice and Asparagus
This quick and easy beef teriyaki recipe paired with white rice and fresh asparagus is one of our favourites. This recipe can obviously been substituted with chicken or even fish. The key to this dish is to make the sauce from scratch and to prevent buying the packaged brands. Trust us, the taste is much better!
Ingredients (Beef Teriyaki):
- White rice
- Any steak type (we used ribeye)
- Green onion
- Soy sauce
- Brown sugar
- Sesame oil
- Pepper
Ingredients (Asparagus):
- Fresh asparagus
- Salt
- Pepper
- Olive oil
Instructions:
- Slice the raw ribeye in strips and marinate with the sauce base (sesame oil, brown sugar, soy sauce, pepper)
- Let the steak marinate for about 20 minutes
- In the meantime, cook the white rice in a small pot (tastes better if using a rice cooker) and boil the fresh asparagus
- In a large pan, heat and drizzle with sesame oil
- Gently lay the steak strips in the hot pan
- Cook out the steak mixture until the sauce thickens
- To plate, put some white rice in a bowl and lay the steak mixture on top
- Top it off with sliced green onion
- Enjoy!
